ADONAI Convention

The Vision

ADONAI meaning Master is a reminder of the Lordship of JESUS CHRIST. The vision of ADONAI convention was given to the General Pastor of the Glory Tabernacle Ministry Dr. U. Obed by God. God laid in his heart the need for a yearly convention for men to enable them come together to learn and share issues that would make them more focused on the Master. ADONAI convention seeks to unite men in our various Ministries into a formidable force in the body of Christ.

The Purpose

The purpose of ADONAI Convention is to continually cause the attention of men to be focused on our Lord Jesus Christ. Sometimes men tend to focus on earthly things rather than on the Master. If we had ever yielded unto Him we need to cling unto Him to the end as the author and finisher of our faith.

The Objectives

  • To bring out the 'real man' in men because real men follow Jesus
  • To perfect men
  • To make men stand as pillars in the house of God
  • To make men effective priests, providers and protectors in their homes
  • To make men to be effective God's change-agents in this end time.
Adonai Convention So Far...

The inaugural ADONAI convention was held in March 2001 with the theme "KNOWING THE MASTER". The convention featured messages by Rev. Alfred Kingsley (Rhema Chapel), Rev. Emiko Amotsuka (Koinonia Ministry), Rev. Sola Kolade (Vine Branch), Dr. U. Obed and a breakfast meeting with Dr. (Mrs) C. Obed (Glory Tabernacle Ministry). Several churches and Ministers attended the sessions.

In June 2002, the second convention held with the theme "UNTO PERFECTION". The convention featured messages by Pastor (Dr) S. Omokhodion (UCH Chapel), Rev. Femi Oluwafemi (Chapel of Joy) and a breakfast meeting with Professor Ayo Ogunkunle (Dean of Students, UI), Rev. (Prince) Aderemi and Dr. G. Akinbola (Glory Tabernacle Ministry).

Between 20th and 23rd March, 2003, the third edition with the theme ARISE AND BUILD was held. Pastor S.A. Adegboyega, of SPAC, Rev.(Dr.) I.D. Lawon of Fullstature Missions, Kunle Ajayi and Dr. U. Obed among others ministered during the convention. Also, special features such as film show, Breakfast Outreach and Health Seminar were included. Thirteen Men's Fellowship from churches within Ibadan were actively involved in the planning of the 2003 convention with many Churches in attendance.

In three years of ADONAI convention, men who have attended the convention have spoken of how God has used the annual meeting to bring about changes in diverse areas of their lives. The song ministrations, messages, film-shows and the breakfast meetings through the power of the Holy Spirit teach new things to the men. The breakfast meeting has become an outreach experience of knowing him.

This year's convention with the theme; CLOUD OF GLORY was a four-day programme that God used to start a new move among men in Ibadan city. Several churches in Ibadan joined with Glory Men's Team to plan this year's convention.
